Climate science told through its waters

How it began

From an Amazonian spring to 14 countries.

In 2015, journalist Diego Gazola set out from the western Amazon to understand, with his own eyes, how the forest’s moisture turns into rain across the entire continent.

How the project works

Three pillars of each stage

01

Accessible science

Complex climate theories translated into images and real stories from the field.

02

Knowledge tourism

Immersive journeys connecting rivers, basins and biomes to the people who live there.

03

Long-term record

A decade of expeditions forming a continuous portrait of climate change.

Production

Made entirely with a smartphone.

No large crew, no heavy equipment: each documentary is filmed, narrated and produced by Diego Gazola using only a smartphone.

This choice is also a statement: telling stories about the climate does not require large budgets.
